Scott Monteith, Kanadier, Wahlberliner und in der Regel als die Ein-Mann-Dub-Armee Deadbeat bekannt, hat den Nachfolger des großartigen New World Observer vollendet. Laut einem MySpace Blogeintrag soll das Album im Mai erscheinen, ~scape dagegen spricht von Mitte Juni. Wie auch immer, wenn man Deadbeats eigener Beschreibung glauben darf sollte es wieder ein sehr vielversprechendes Album und würdiger Nachfolger werden, und es scheint als hätte das Berliner Umfeld auch den Sound beeinflusst:
The title is Journeyman’s Annual. It’s more dancefloor oriented then any other Deadbeat album I think, though perhaps more dance-hall then 4-on-the-floor. ..It’s something new for sure.
It’s got heart wrenching strings from my dear friend Sophie, burning vocals from Moral Undulations, Bubbz from Bristol who I met down in Oz, and Montreal’s supreme boss Deejay Jah Cutta. We also managed to negotiate sticking the Saul Williams remix I did back in ’05 that so many people have asked me for copies of as a bonus track. Really happy a few more people other than me and the lucky few who got my 20 promo copies will be able to wreck dancefloors with it!
