Sampling ist ja, nicht nur im Hip Hop Bereich, ein inzwischen weit verbreitetes und akzeptiertes Produktionsverfahren. Problem ist nur, wenn die entsprechenden Credits fehlen, oder sich das Ergebnis nicht mehr vom Original unterscheiden lässt. So geschehen bei Efrat, einem aktuellen Track des israelischen Producers Shlomi Aber, der sich offensichtlich etwas zu intensiv mit Aril Brikhas Klassiker aus dem Jahre 1997, Groove la Chord, beschäftigt hat, was dieser mit einigen netten Worten nun kommentiert hat. Die beiden Tracks lassen sich auf den jeweiligen MySpace Seiten anhören und vergleichen.

after checking his myspace page out, and finding out he is a “friend” of mine and then listening to the track, i cant come to another conclusion that my original track, not only was being an inspiration to his track “efrat”, but also most likely sampled.

i find this incident a bit over the top. whereas not only a track with the caracteristics of my track , with the same chords, in the same key, played the same way and with filter sweeps….and most likely actually sampled, is being released as an original track of a person like shlomi aber. its in my opinion the lowest way of persueing their own careers.
